CHARLOTTE — Novant Health is using AI to connect hospital patients, their families and doctors with a new system called Q-rounds.
The technology allows doctors to notify family members when they will be checking in on their loved ones in the hospital.
Novant Health’s Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer Sanjay Gupta told Channel 9’s Damany Lewis the new tool started in the neonatal intensive care unit. Now, he says it’s expanding to adult care across multiple hospitals.
Novant says it hopes to improve the technology in the future with Q-rounds video calls, so doctors and family members can see each other.
