CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An off-duty Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer detained two aggressive door-to-door saleswomen accused of forcing their way into a home in southeast Charlotte Wednesday night.
Zsanita Kearse and Lola Audrey are charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering in the incident, which happened on Bathurst Drive.
The resident, Salsabeel Shamudeen, said the women seemed sketchy and carried bags with them into the front hall. They refused to leave until another family member forced them out.
“They said they wanted to show us some cleaning products or whatever," Shamudeen said. “I was like, ‘Just tell them to go away. We don’t want to buy anything.’ They just kind of pushed their way in.”

Channel 9 received cellphone video (below) from a neighbor who lives on the street which shows the off-duty officer pointing a gun towards a white vehicle.
Once the women left, neighbors took note of their car and then made a phone call to the off-duty police officer, who lives down the street, and told him what happened.
“We were worried that they might be casing the house to come back and rob us when no one was home or something like that,” Shamudeen said.
The suspects drove by again a short time later, and the officer held them until other officers arrived.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Lt. Brad Koch has advice for residents who encounter these type of individuals.
“One, that you do not open the door. Particularly, if you don't know who they are,” Koch said. “Ask through the door who they are, and if they don't identify themselves, go ahead and call the police.”
