GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were injured in a wreck Tuesday morning in Gastonia.
The crash happened around 8:20 a.m. on Davis Park Road.
One car with two people was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control and hit a large tree stump, according to officials. The car overturned twice. One person was trapped inside the car while the other was able to escape, according to Gastonia Fire Department.
Firefighters removed the back seat of the vehicle using hydraulic rescue tools, and brought the entrapped patient out of the vehicle through the rear window of the wreckage.
Both people were transported to Caromont Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
