SOUTH CAROLINA — According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, drivers should expect delays on Interstate 77 in northbound and southbound lanes near Blythewood.
The SCDPS said heavy traffic and congestion has been caused by utility construction.
Officials said work has been stopped for Saturday, but traffic was backed up several miles, so it may take a while for traffic to clear out.
The utility company plans to start working again Sunday morning.
