BOONE, N.C. — Samaritan's Purse headquarters in Boone received a letter Friday containing a white, powdery substance, officials said.
Investigators said the suspicious letter was addressed to a worker at the facility. Along with the powder, it included a photo of the worker with the word Taliban typed onto it.
The building was evacuated and a hazmat crew investigated the letter. The state crime lab now has the letter.
