CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. — A person has died after being hit by a car on S.C. Highway 18 near Idlewood Road in Cherokee County on Friday just after 10:30 p.m.
The collision involved a 2017 Chrysler SUV traveling on S.C. Highway 18 when Myka Lynn Hyde was attempting to cross the road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The SUV hit Hyde, who sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
