Panthers' DE Frank Alexander suspended 10 games

Carolina Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander has been suspended for 10 games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Alexander’s suspension begins immediately.

He has not played this season after playing in 12 games in 2013.

He will be eligible to return to the active roster on Dec. 15 following the team’s Dec. 14 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Alexander has 33 career tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.

Alexander, 24, was drafted in 2012 in the fourth round (103rd overall) by the Panthers.

He played college football at Oklahoma.
