Part of I-485 temporarily shut down by deadly crash in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — One person is dead after being hit by a car on the Interstate 485 Outer Loop in Huntersville, according to officials.

It happened around 12 p.m. near Alexandriana Road, according to Huntersville Fire. The crash shut down the Interstate 485 Outer Loop ramp to I-77, and the I-485 Inner Loop ramp to I-77 North was closed by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol as they investigated.

It’s not clear what led to the crash at this time.

Officials have not released the identity of the victim.
