Pedestrian critically injured in hit-and-run crash; police search for driver

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car Sunday morning, police said.

Officials said the crash happened in the 2000 block of North Graham Street around 12:30 a.m.

Police said officers found the man lying unconscious in the road.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver failed to stop or return to the scene.

Investigators said witnesses said the driver was in a silver sedan. Police said the car was last seen traveling north on Graham Street and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
