Pedestrian hit, killed Tuesday night in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. — A woman died Tuesday night after a crash on Old Charlotte Road SW near Park Drive SW in Concord, according to Concord police.

Carmelita Little Cook, 62, of Concord, was hit around 8:30 p.m. as she attempted to cross the road, according to police.

Blair Melissa Arledge, 41, of Cornelius, was driving a 2012GMC Acadia. Police said there was no indication excessive speed or other violation contributed to the accident.

Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
