CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing another man in the neck in east Charlotte Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the assault around 8 p.m. in the 3500 block of Spanish Quarter Circle.
The victim was taken to the hospital and police said he was in stable condition.
Detectives told Channel 9 they arrested Jose Ahumada and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Officers said they called interpreters tot he scene to assist because they were working through a language barrier.
Police said the initial investigation shows that the victim and suspect appear to be friends, and were hanging out together along with two female companions.
