NC Attorney General warns about phony iTunes email

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper is warning people about a phony email that uses Apple's iTunes to obtain confidential information.

At least one woman has received an email claiming her iTunes account had been restricted for security reasons.

The email provides a link for you to verify your identity. One question even asked for her social security number.

Apple does not ask for that type of information.
