Police: Reason for shooting in Greenville unknown

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Police are trying to figure out why a man went on a shooting spree Friday in Greenville, N.C., where they said four people were injured.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 a.m., WTVD reported.

Police said the shooting started across the street at a law firm.

The alleged gunman ran to the Walmart, where shots were fired inside the store, police said. According to witnesses, the parking lot was packed at the time of the shootings.

The shooter fled the store after shooting three people, police said.

Police said when they caught up to him, he fired shots at them.

The man was shot by police, but his condition has not been released.

All four victims and the gunman are expected to fully recover.
