CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD and UNC Charlotte police officers arrested two men Saturday in an attempted armed robbery near UNC-Charlotte, officials said.
Saturday morning around 2:30, police said several people were walking home in the 1100 block of Campus Pointe Court when a car drove up to them. The passenger got out of the car and brandished his gun while demanding their property. The victims escaped and described the suspects' car to police.
Police said they soon saw a car matching that description pull into a driveway. Officers stopped the car and arrested Victor Alexis Ignacio, 21, and Kevin Romero, 22, when the victims identified them.
Officers also found a stolen firearm from the car.
