CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Tuesday Eyewitness News learned new details about how a Charlotte couple ended up in jail.
Detectives said Marta Delcid pretended to be an escort then she and her friend Brandon Fredell, robbed the men who answered the ads.
Just last month Delcid appeared on Channel 9 after her brother was shot and killed by a 14-year-old during a home invasion and her other brother was arrested. Now she is in toruble.
"It does appear these individuals did this more than one time and probably over an extended period of time," said Brad Riley, Cabarrus County sheriff.
Cabarrus County learned about the first case on Dec. 15. They said a man from rural Midland called detectives and hired Delcid as an escort.
That man didn't want to talk on camera Tuesday, but he said Delcid came into his house and two minutes later Fredell came in with a gun. The victim said they tied him to a chair and stole guns and cash from his home.
"We immediately got that call and started an investigation into the crime."
Detectives learned the couple are involved in similar cases in Mecklenburg and Lancaster counties, and said there could be more.
"We do believe there are probably others that didn't come forward," he said.
Both suspects were in Cabarrus County court Tuesday for a first appearance.
They'll face Mecklenburg County charges later in the week.
If you have any additional information or have been victimized by these individuals you can contact the Criminal Investigations Division of the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office at 704-920-3025, or your local law enforcement agency.
