Police: Four with NBA connections arrested at post-game party

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An Eyewitness News camera captured four women in handcuffs.

Police said the women have NBA connections to the Los Angeles Clippers and the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the four women are facing charges after a post-game party turned into a fight outside Charlotte nightclub Label.

Jaime Thomas, the wife of Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas, was arrested. The 26-year-old woman's mug shot showed a gash under her left eye. Police said she was intoxicated when she hit a security guard twice with her car, trying to leave the Music Factory after a fight involving the other women.

Police said they had to pull her out of the car.

Thomas is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and DWI.

According to online reports, Sascha Smith, another of those arrested, is engaged to Bobcats guard Ben Gordon.

Morgan Williams, 22, of Chicago is facing a felony robbery charge.

Police said Williams stole Alissa Jordan's purse.

Williams was caught on camera attempting to kick a Channel 9 photographer. Police also charged Shassity Stevenson for resisting arrest. Smith was also charged with resisting arrest.

Eyewitness News went to Jordan’s home Thursday. She did not say much, but she did acknowledge the fight.

“My things were stolen. It was a fight and that’s it,” she said.

A spokesman for the Bobcats said, "We are aware of the incident, but it would be inappropriate for us to comment on this pending legal matter."
