CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was assaulted early Friday morning in east Charlotte.
Officers found the man before 1:30 a.m. on John Penn Circle, officials said.
Police said the man was shot in the head. He was identified as Gary Bernard Bynum, 34.
MEDIC took the man with life-threatening injuries to Carolinas Medical Center.
The man is in critical condition, police said.
