HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory police said they responded to an armed robbery at a popular restaurant north of downtown late Thursday night.
Investigators said a man with a gun robbed a Salsarita’s on 2nd Street Northeast around 9:20 p.m.
Police said the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the manager go to a back room of the restaurant.
After taking money from the restaurant, the suspect fled, police said.
Police said they brought in tracking dogs to look for the suspect.

Officers said they are also reviewing surveillance video from inside the restaurant in hopes of identifying the person responsible.
