Police looking for ‘armed and dangerous’ man accused in Lancaster teen’s shooting

LANCASTER, S.C. — The Lancaster Police Department is looking for a 22-year-old man in connection to the shooting of a teen on Sunday evening.

Police said they were called for gunshots fired at the Scotchman convenience store on South Main Street at around 6 p.m.

At the scene, officers said they found a teenager who had been shot once in the chest. He was taken to the hospital but his condition is unknown, according to police.

Investigators believe the teen was shot as soon as he left the convenience store. They said a white vehicle was seen quickly leaving the scene.

Police said witnesses identified the driver of that car as 29-year-old Tyshekia Blair. Blair was arrested for accessory after the fact of a violent crime. She is in the Lancaster County jail waiting for a bond hearing.

Authorities said they quickly identified the suspect in this case as 22-year-old Donte Jamar Townsend. They took out arrest warrants for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Lancaster police said Townsend is considered armed and dangerous.
