Woman who vanished while playing Pokémon GO found safe, police say

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Police said a woman they had been searching for after she disappeared Tuesday night while playing Pokémon GO in Alexander County has been found safe.

Officials had been conducting a large-scale search Wednesday morning off of Highway 90, just west of Taylorsville.

Police said 29-year-old Phyllis Sarra went into the woods barefoot while playing Pokémon GO on Tuesday and had not been seen since.

Deputies told Channel 9′s Dave Faherty they were flying drones in the area and calling for bloodhound search dogs.

Shortly after 11 a.m., officials said they had learned that Sarra was found and was safe.

No other information has been released.
