Woman accused of selling sex out of South Park apartment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Susan Williams was selling sex out of her South Park apartment building.

She was arrested on prostitution charges at an apartment in Post Park at Phillips Place.

The Phillips Place shopping area is known for high-end shopping, dining and upscale gated communities, with security around the shopping area.

The CMPD Vice Squad arrested Williams in July and charged her with soliciting prostitution and having an apartment for the purpose of prostitution, as well as drug charges.

Police responded to a complaint and followed an ad that was placed online at backpage.com.

That investigation led to Williams' arrest, and authorities said they don't expect additional arrests.

While searching the apartment, officers found a black notebook they described as a ledger.

Williams is expected to be in court next week on prostitution charges.
