GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A registered sex offender is back in the Gaston County jail after deputies said they found him on social media.
Cornell Taylor was first charged in 2006 with indecent liberties with a child.
Deputies did not say which social media site he was on.
North Carolina lawmakers want to start charging sex offenders for being listed on the state registry.
The House could take a final vote on House Bill 684 as early as Thursday.
They want to charge people $90 a year.
Sex offenders would stay on the registry regardless of whether they pay the fee.
The bill calls on the state attorney general to bring civil actions against people who don't pay.
