HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. — On Monday, a rockslide occurred on Interstate 40 in Haywood County near the Tennessee border.
The right lane of I-40 was closed at the site of the slide.
Engineers from the N.C. Department of Transportation, including geotechnical engineers, were on scene assessing the slide to determine how it could be cleared and when the road could be reopened.
