CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two churches were vandalized sometime late Saturday night into early Sunday in Rowan County, according to investigation reports.
Living Word Spirited Baptist Church and St. Enoch Lutheran Church were hit by vandals who left hundreds of dollars worth of damage, police said.
Someone spray-painted “Satan Loves You” and “666” on the churches that are about 2 miles apart.
Rev. Rodney Boone of Living World Baptist believes they are connected.
“It's heartbreaking to know that you're trying to do good work and then all of a sudden this happens but we're going to move on,” Boone said. “We're going to clean it up. They can destroy what's outside the building but they can't destroy what's inside."
Authorities have not said if the two crimes are connected.
