SALISBURY, N.C. — Police are investigating a deadly head-on hit-and-run involving a moped in Salisbury.
The crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. Friday in the area of W Horah Street, near S West Street.

Police said 59-year-old Larry Barber was hit head-on while riding his moped on West Horah Street. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Witnesses told police the car that hit Barber did not stop.
Officers believe the suspect vehicle is a gold or silver SUV with heavy front end damage and is missing the driver side mirror.
No arrests have been made.
