Shots fired into car waiting at east Charlotte intersection

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An east Charlotte man is still shaken after someone shot at his car while he was driving on Saturday.

The man, who asked not to be identified for his safety, told reporter Blake Hanson he was near the intersection of Kilborne and Eastway Drives at about 6 p.m. when he was shot at.

He said a car, with two people inside, sped up behind him and was swerving in and out of lanes. He said it looked like the car was trying to push other cars.

"I don't think I did nothing, so I don't know why they were trying to shoot me and why they're trying to kill me," he said.

The man said there was a small car next to him that blocked the suspects' car from pulling up alongside him. The bullet struck just above the driver's side wheel.

"I'm saying thank you God, there was another car there," he said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have not released a vehicle or suspect description but are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.

The man, who initially planned on taking his son with him, is glad something told him not to.

"Nobody knows, only God you know," the man said.
