CHESTER, S.C. — Police said a man and a woman are dead in a murder-suicide in Chester.
The shooting occurred Thursday afternoon outside the Chester Water Department building on Wylie Street.
Officials said the woman, 41-year-old Angie Small, who worked at the water department, came outside to talk to her estranged husband, 44-year-old Donald Small, when he shot her and then turned the gun on himself.
The couple is from Lancaster. Police said they had two teenage children.

It was less than three weeks ago when their house caught fire. It was ruled an accident,
Investigators told Channel 9 it started in a dryer vent.
That was the last time a neighbor said she saw Angie Small.
Police said the couple had been estranged for several months, but neighbors knew nothing of that.
Tabitha Strain told Channel 9 Angie Small welcomed her when she moved her a few months ago.
When Channel 9 broke the news to her, she couldn't believe it.
"This is shocking. I had no idea. This is so shocking. That's a great loss," said Strain.
The couple lived there for many years.
Channel 9 asked sheriff's deputies about calls for service to the house. They said they had several, but they were normal complaints, nothing domestic and no police reports were ever made.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on both Friday.
