UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 79-year-old man from Union County who authorities believe may be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued the alert Wednesday night for Joseph Vincent Hicks.
Hicks was reported missing from the 6000 block of Lawyers Road East in Marshville.
His last known location was in Gastonia, and authorities say he may be driving a maroon 1998 Ford truck with North Carolina license plate TYC3220.
Hicks is described as a white man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has short white hair and blue eyes. His clothing at the time he went missing is unknown.
