CHARLOTTE — Some unvaccinated University of North Carolina at Charlotte students will be subject to regular COVID-19 testing throughout the semester, according to a statement released by the university on Wednesday.
According to university officials, students who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19, will not be able to move into their dorm without providing proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or a negative test result. They will also be required to participate in wastewater-based surveillance testing.
Unvaccinated students who live off campus, but plan to attend in-person classes must submit a negative test result prior to the start of fall classes and participate in weekly mitigation testing.
University officials said failure to comply with the requirements will result in a loss of NinerNet credentials and could result in further disciplinary action.
Students who are fully vaccinated must submit the reporting form with the appropriate documentation to be exempt from daily screenings and testing.
The campus plans to host on-campus Pfizer vaccine clinics on Aug. 19 and Aug. 25.
