CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Police are investigating a workplace accident in Chester County, where one person was killed.
The accident happened at Carolina Poly on Lancaster Highway on Thursday morning.
Officials told Channel 9's South Carolina Bureau Reporter Greg Suskin the man was not stable enough to be airlifted and died at a Chester hospital.
Authorities later identified the man as 55-year-old Melvin Cleveland Simpson.
It is unknown what happened in the incident or how the accident happened.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is said to be evaluating the accident at this time.
No other information has been released.
