South Carolina airport named among best in North America

GREER, S.C. — Charlotte-Douglas International Airport may be one of the busiest airports in the Carolinas, but an airport not too far away in South Carolina has been recognized as one of the best in North America.

Airports Council International unveiled the winners of its annual ASQ Awards Monday.

The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in Greer, South Carolina, swept numerous awards. The airport was named the best in North America for airports with two to five million passengers per year.

ACI World also recognized the South Carolina airport as the winner in four new categories that were introduced this year. That includes Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff, Easiest Airport Journey, Most Enjoyable Airport, and Cleanest Airport.

According to the group, there were nearly 400 participating airports in 95 countries.
