CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Schools in Catawba County saw a minor increase in student absences while Border Patrol was in North Carolina.
Of the 16,000 students enrolled in the district, 768 were not in school on Wednesday.
The day before, 883 were absent, according to the Mooresville Tribune.
Those totals were only slightly higher than an average school day for the area.
