Study finds 1/3 of unvaccinated Americans waiting for vaccines to get full FDA approval

COVID-19 vaccinations have slowed and a new study may reveal why. The Kaiser Family Foundation found one-third of unvaccinated Americans are waiting for the vaccines to get full Food and Drug Administration approval.

Local health officials said if that’s someone’s reason, then they shouldn’t wait and should get the shot now.

“I think first it’s important for people to understand that this is not granted lightly, and since the emergency authorization has occurred, the amount of data that has come out afterward to show just how safe and effective these vaccines are is overwhelming,” said Dr. Meg Sullivan, Mecklenburg County Medical Director.
