A teenager is accused of a deadly shooting early Sunday morning near downtown Morganton, where police say they responded to the scene after hearing the gunfire.
Kevon Mack appeared before a judge Monday morning after that shooting along West Union Street.
Police say when they got to the scene, they tried to help the victim who was lying face down in the roadway.
Three other people were charged with obstruction of justice in connection with that case.
