At least 10 occupations in the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metropolitan statistical area pay local employees an annual salary, on average, of at least $200,000, according to the most recent data released this spring by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a division within the U.S. Department of Labor. Of those jobs, all but one — that of chief executive — were rooted in the health-care industry.
And they all dwarf the overall average annual income for Charlotte-area workers — $51,000 in 2018. That figure grew 1.7% from $50,150 in the previous year.
