Tyson recalls chicken wings because of 'off odor'

Tyson Foods has recalled more then 52,000 pounds of chicken wings because they may have an "off odor" smell, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said Tuesday.

Some consumers reported that their Tyson Any'tizers hot wings had an off smell and caused mild illness when they were eaten.

Tyson Foods alerted the Food Safety and Inspection Service, which could not confirm any adverse reactions to the chicken.

The organization advises anyone who has purchased the following product to throw them away or return them:

  • 28-ounce retail bags containing multiple pieces of "Tyson® Any'tizers with use by/sell by dates of Oct. 24, 2016, and Oct. 25, 2016, packaging dates 2975PBF0508-23/2985PBF0500-01 and case codes 2975PBF0508-23/2985PBF0500-01. The package will contain the establishment number "P-13456" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
