Asheville building collapse witness: 'Huge cloud of dust'

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — New video shows a two-story building in Asheville that collapsed Thursday.

The two-story building was located at 15 Carolina Lane in downtown Asheville. Nearby buildings were evacuated.

One person working nearby said it looked like a huge cloud of dust falling from the sky.

No one was inside the building when it fell around 2:30 p.m. and no one was hurt.

"I was just at my desk and I heard rumbling.  I thought it was a truck going down the lane.  Then all of a sudden, I saw things falling and there was a huge cloud of dust," said witness Molly Dingledine.

It took crews a while to make sure there weren't any victims, because they had reports of contractors working in the building recently.
