VIDEO: York County deputy pulls gun on Chiefs’ Bashaud Breeland before arrest

Bashaud Breeland

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A York County sheriff’s deputy pulled his gun on Kansas City cornerback Bashaud Breeland before the NFL player was arrested, according to an incident report.

Deputies said Breeland continually resisted arrest Tuesday after he was seen smoking marijuana in a parked car at a Fort Mill gas station.

The report states the York County deputy took out his taser before Breeland pushed the deputy and got into his truck at a gas station. When the deputy could not see Breeland’s hands, the report says he took out his weapon as the player put his hands in the air.

In video from TMZSports, the deputy can be seen trying to handcuff the NFL player several times.

Breeland was eventually handcuffed.

The 28-year-old is facing five charges, including possession of marijuana or hash, driving with an open container of beer or wine, resisting arrest and driving without a license.

He was released on $2,362.50 bond after spending about 10 hours in jail.

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Friday that the organization will allow the legal process to play out before making any decisions of its own.

Breeland played for Clemson University from 2011 to 2013 before the Washington Redskins selected him in the 2014 NFL Draft. He later played for the Green Bay Packers before signing with the Chiefs.
