Web Exclusive: Uptown Earth Hour time lapse

CHARLOTTE — Uptown Charlotte went dark on Saturday night for Earth Hour.

The World Wide Fund for Nature encourages people, cities, and businesses to switch off the lights at 8:30 p.m. Saturday to show support for environmental causes.

According to Charlotte Center City, participating buildings include the Bank of America Center, Duke Energy Center, Convention Center, NASCAR Plaza, Heart Tower and more.

Channel 9's Charlotte Cam shows a time lapse of the hour leading up to the lights switching off.
