Woman suffers minor injuries in Edisto Beach shark bite

EDISTO BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Colleton County officials say a woman suffered minor injuries when she was bitten by a small shark at Edisto Beach.

RECENT ATTACKS:

Rescue officials told local reporters that the Mount Pleasant woman was bitten Sunday morning by a shark that was between three and four feet long.

They say she had a small cut on top of her foot and two puncture wounds on the bottom of her foot. She was taken to Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro for some stitches.

The 35-year-old woman was in waist deep water when she was bitten.
