YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A tour bus caught fire Thursday around 11 a.m. on Interstate 77 in York County, officials said.
The Upper Palmetto YMCA bus is on I-77 south near Gold Hill Road.
The bus is partially blocking the ramp and the right lane. Officials have the fire under control, but congestion is expected.
The driver was the only person on the bus. The bus, a 2000 Setra model, had just been serviced in preparation for summer trips, YMCA officials said. The driver realized something was wrong and pulled over when the bus caught fire.
