YORK COUNTY, S.C. — On Monday, after a month and a half long operation, deputies with the York County Sheriff's Office Anti-Crime Team and Code Enforcement Division arrested eight employees of scrap metal businesses in the county.
The investigation, code named "Operation Risky Business," was conducted from Aug. 6 through Sept. 17.

The justification for "Operation Risky Business" was based on intelligence gathered showing $464,578 of scrap metal was stolen in York County since September 2011.
The eight suspects arrested included: John Robert Snipes, 61, John M. Snipes, 28, Suzanne Wright, 30, Johnny Young, 58, Deborah Barnes, 52, Garrett Buckles, 24, Darius McCullough, 32 and John Chappell, 43.
