CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A Fort Bragg soldier who was wounded in Afghanistan will be Republican U.S. Rep. Congressman Robert Pittenger's personal guest for Tuesday's State of the Union address.
Pittenger's office said in a news release that Army Sergeant Jack Moneymaker will attend President Barack Obama's address Tuesday inside the U.S. Capitol. Pittenger's district includes suburbs around Charlotte.
Moneymaker is currently recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Each member of Congress can choose to bring one guest to the annual address. His past guests include Wounded Warrior Army Specialist William Armstrong and Sergeant Matt Cooke, who survived a 2014 attack in Fort Hood, Texas.
