Al menos 19 niños y dos adultos murieron en un tiroteo en la escuela Robb Elementary en la localidad de Uvalde, en Texas, el martes, confirmaron las autoridades.
El sospechoso, identificado ese mismo día por el gobernador de Texas, Greg Abbott, como Salvador Ramos, de 18 años, fue ultimado por agentes de la ley, informó KSAT-TV.

El tiroteo en la escuela, considerado el más mortífero en la historia de Texas, ocurrió en el Distrito Escolar Independiente Consolidado de Uvalde, a unas 85 millas al oeste de San Antonio, informó WOAI.
Abbott dijo durante una conferencia de prensa que Ramos bajó de su automóvil y entró a la escuela con una pistola y posiblemente un rifle, informó The Associated Press, señalando que la masacre del martes es la peor registrada en una escuela primaria de EE. UU. desde el ataque en la primaria Sandy Hook en Newtown, Connecticut, hace casi una década.

Alguaciles estadounidenses dijeron que Amerie Jo Garza, de 10 años, estudiante de cuarto grado en la Robb Elementary, murió en el tiroteo. Su padre, Ángel Garza, lo confirmó en un comunicado el martes por la noche.
