According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the victim boasted about his business online, attracting the attention of Tsdekiel Sellers, 22, of Atlanta; Benyahveen Radcliffe, 25, of Buffalo, New York; and Kashaveeyah Bragdon, 22, of Tallahassee, Florida, WPEB reported.

The out-of-town trio then posed as interested dog buyers, but when they showed up at the dog breeder’s home, they robbed and assaulted him for nearly two days before kidnapping him and forcing him to drive their vehicle, WPBF reported.

When the victim spotted a sheriff’s deputy on the road they were traveling, however, he intentionally broke traffic laws in order to be pulled over, the TV stations reported.

During the ensuing traffic stop, the victim tipped off the deputy to his distress using a hand signal, and the deputy ordered him to exit the vehicle, allowing him to explain his situation, WPEB reported.

According to the TV station, the deputies patrolling that portion of the highway were actually part of the department’s Traveling Criminal Response Team, and they charged Sellers, Radcliffe and Bragdon with unlicensed carry of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and providing a false name.

In addition, Port St. Lucie police charged the trio with kidnapping, assault, home invasion, false imprisonment and witness tampering, WPBF reported.
