Nestlé Purina PetCare Company expanded its recall of a prescription dry dog food due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D.
In a news release issued on Friday, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration said that Purina’s investigation revealed that a mistake from a supplier caused the potential problem.
The original recall was on Feb. 8.

“Veterinary and other retail partners should remove and destroy the affected product from their inventory,” the FDA stated.
