HOPEWELL, Va. — Police in Virginia are looking for two men who jumped out of an SUV and began shooting in front of a home in a Hopewell neighborhood Friday evening, authorities said.
The men’s actions were caught on a doorbell camera across the street, WRIC reported.
According to the Hopewell Police Department, officers responded after receiving reports of possible shots fired at 7:30 p.m. WTVR reported.
Investigators said 30 rounds were fired, the television station reported.
“(Officers) recovered 25 casings (9mm and .556) and 5, .556 rifle casings in the roadway,” Hopewell Police Department spokesperson Lt. Michael Langford told WTVR. “Multiple residences and vehicles were struck by gunfire during the senseless shooting.”
According to a news release, there were no injuries reported from the shooting.
In the security camera footage, a dark-colored SUV with a roof rack speeds through the neighborhood when it suddenly comes to a halt. One person jumps out of the vehicle and begins firing in the direction of a home, police said. Moments later, another man gets out of the vehicle and begins shooting in the same direction, according to the camera footage.
The two men then jump into the SUV and drive away, according to the video footage.
Police said they have not determined a motive and whether anyone was targeted, WTVR reported.
