N Charlotte Toyota tips

Tailgating time is here! Football season has kicked off and whether you prefer college or professional (or even high school!) there are plenty of games to hit this fall. Toyota of N Charlotte wants you to have a great season so we’re here to share 6 tailgating essentials that you want to pack up before you head to the stadium. Check it out!

What tailgating essentials should you pack for the big game?

Essential #1: Trash bags. There’s plenty of trash to clean up when tailgating, but you don’t want to spend the whole time going back and forth to the trash or catching windblown garbage. Bring plenty of trash bags so you can make one trip at the end and keep your site nice and tidy.

Essential #2: Bluetooth speakers. It's tempting to use your car as a music source, but this can drain your battery! Pack Bluetooth speakers to pair with your phone so you can stream your favorite tailgating playlists without damaging your N Charlotte Toyota's battery. Remember to put them away before you head into the stadium for the game!

Essential #3: Hot box. A cooler keeps cool things cool, but what about hot items? Keep them hot by lining a separate cooler with tin foil and putting hot bricks in the bottom. Add another layer of tin foil and there you go – a portable oven to keep things warm! (Keep in mind, it won't actually cook anything.)

Essential #4: Small portable grill. What's a tailgate without hot wings or hotdogs? Grill up your own goods and save money – stadium food is expensive! Bring a small portable grill along with you and be sure to set it up at least 6 feet away from your car for safety's sake. You should also dispose of hot charcoal properly at the end.

Essential #5: First aid kit. Bring a first aid kit just in case you encounter minor injuries while grilling or playing. It’ll come in handy, trust us! You can even store it in your N Charlotte Toyota so you have it on hand all the time, not just during football season.
Essential #6: Chairs or other seating. No one wants to stand around while celebrating! Bring some small foldup chairs or even inflatable furniture so everyone can get comfortable while they’re waiting for the game to start.

Toyota of N Charlotte reminds you to line up a designated driver

And here’s a very necessary 7th essential – a designated driver. We know that tailgating is a celebratory time with adult beverages, so line up a DD ahead of time and always have a backup plan, like an Uber or Lyft, just in case your DD falls through.

And make sure you have the right ride for tailgating – like a N Charlotte Toyota truck! Come shop our whole selection today; Toyota of N Charlotte is located just off I-77 at exit 23 in Huntersville.
