A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for several counties in our area until 4:15 p.m.
Forecast:
- Scattered storms are possible this evening, with on-and-off downpours expected across the Charlotte area this weekend.
- A long-lasting washout is not expected, but you’ll want to keep an umbrella nearby Saturday and Sunday.
- Cooler air is moving in and clashing with the 90-degree heat in Charlotte. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 80s Saturday before climbing back to around 90 degrees Sunday.
- An even bigger push of cooler air, along with additional showers, is expected Tuesday, just in time for the start of fall.
