SALISBURY, N.C. — The fourth annual Cheerwine Festival that was set to return to historic downtown Salisbury on May 16 is moving online.
In place of the street festival, organizers have planned a virtual event featuring live performances, giveaways and games.
The never-before-announced headliners scheduled to perform include The Sugarhill Gang, Tone Loc, Nathan Angelo and ACE Party Band.
In addition to watching the performances, fans can also enter to win prizes, test their Cheerwine trivia knowledge, download activities and shop online with local businesses and Cheerwine vendors who were scheduled to sell their handmade items at the festival.
There’s also a webpage dedicated to recipes, so fans can enjoy their favorite Cheerwine-infused drinks and dishes at home. (Think Cheerwine caramel corn, Cheerwine Texas Pete chicken wings, Cheerwine hushpuppies, Cheerwine bundt cake, Cheerwine bourbon slushies and more!)
The festival is set to begin at 5 p.m. EST. Click here to tune in.
A 2020 festival T-shirt is also available for purchase with all profits from sale of the shirt going to the Rowan County United Way’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
The shirt features original artwork by Johnathan Marcus Woods, the grand prize winner of the inaugural Cheerwine Festival T-shirt design contest. Fans were invited to submit their original designs for consideration earlier this year.
The 2021 Cheerwine Festival is planned for May 15, 2021.
